Pelvic Trans Abdominal Only

Requires a full bladder

Drink approximately 40 ounces of liquid 45 minutes to 1 hour before exam.

DO NOT empty your bladder

Pelvic Complete

Requires a full bladder AND a vaginal approach.

Renal / Bladder Study

Requires a full bladder

Drink approximately 40 ounces of liquid 45 minutes to 1 hour before exam.

Abdomen

If patient still has gallbladder must have fat free supper and nothing to eat the day before the exam until exam is completed.

Obstetrical

Patients in 1st trimester expect to exam to be performed vaginally.

3D-4D Ultrasound

You do not need a full bladder but come well hydrated. However, try eating or drinking something sweet 30 minutes before your exam. Chewing gum works if you’re trying to avoid sweets.

All babies present differently at different times. We cannot guarantee your pictures will be similar to those you may have seen elsewhere or online. There are many factors to consider, such as:

  • Age
  • Position
  • Mothers Physical Condition
  • Placenta
  • Amniotic fluid
